Scanned original...

This is the most recent photo, but it does not do it justice by any means!

Big difference, right?! LOL! Its too big to scan the entire image @ once, so there are 2 scanned versions :)
This one gives you a better look @ the hair

Now to add a darker shadow to the neck to pull it all together & then going to add the GLITTER :)

Almost DONE...

Been working hard for a while now & I need to take a BREAK ;) This is a complicated piece that deserves a fresh eye...loL! I am finished with one side of the face COMPLETELY, but I am gonna take a breather & then come back to finish the other side ;) Looks like i just have one side of the face, the hair & the shirt to go! Woo Hoo!

Christmas Eve progress...

This was the progress only a little while after my first post on Wed.

Thursday was my birthday & I sat in front of the tv while finishing the background :) I added a few layers of the skin tones before adding the color of the paints on her face. I wanted her skin tone to come through in order for the shadows to come out correctly. I added white colored pencil to the white areas & then used a white-out pen to make the highlight brighter ;) I am going to finish up the shadows on her face & finish her hair & I will be DONE! In time for Christmas, too!! Yeah ;)

On a ROLL!!

How could I NOT be excited to get this done :)
Now for the skin tones!

Christmas RUSH...

On Monday I received an email from my etsy acct from someone here in LR that wanted to know whether I could do a portrait of his daughter for his wife's Christmas present. I was so excited & definitely up for the task after I saw the image that he wanted me to recreate ;)

See what I mean!? Talk about a GREAT picture :)

Here is the pencil rendition....I had to add a little extra @ the bottom for it to fit better in the 11X17 space that we decided on. I cannot wait to get this done & handed over :) I have a lot to do but I know that I will be into it & done in NO TIME!

Finished products...

Scanned version of middle face

Scanned version of last face

Both triptychs together ;)

Thx so much, LAURA....for letting me yet again surprise myself by doing gorgeous work ;)
I truly hope that the grandparents are as ecstatic as we were...lol!

And......ITS DONE!! YEAH!

Well, here are the final photos of the last face :)

First layer of color on the skin & hair

Adding more skin tones

Smoothing it all out & 2nd coat on hair color

Adding the first layer of shadows

Darkening the shadows little by little :)

This is the highlights added & everything finished on the hair.
Now that the skin tones are finished I darkened the mouth to match better.

I am working on getting the final piece scanned in so you can get the real effect of the piece :)

OH!....So CLOSE ;)

Well, lucky me I am fighting a cold & am having a hard time focusing on the final touches of the first triptych. I am doing it, though...lol!

Finished the collar of his shirt

Completed his striped shirt

Started adding color to the mouth

This as far as I can get on the mouth until I add the skin tones. I will be able to see what needs to be added to it once I have the skin tones in.

Eyes are done :)

Two out of Three DONE! ;)

Okay, so I did finish the 2nd face on the first triptych today :) YEAH ME! Enjoy the photos...Im starting on the final face :D

Just the pencil rendition of the facial features....making sure that they are placed correctly and I can recognize where they start & end

I did the hand before starting the face to get a feel for how the skin tones that I had chosen would work

The eyes are almost finished here & the mouth is started

This is the first few layers of color added to the skin.

I started adding the shadows & made sure the hair line was placed correctly

Finished product.... :)
