To Be Continued...

Experimenting with Watercolor Pencils....

I have experienced a ton of different art mediums throughout the years.
Of course, colored pencil is my favorite & I am still working at perfecting
my own style. I have had these watercolor pencils just sitting in
a drawer for YEARS now, so here goes NOTHING :)

Pencil drawing...my lil man ;)

One iris completed

Both eyes DONE

Sweet lips

Adding detail to the eyes

Eyes are done :)

Playing with the skin tone...to be continued...

Definitely glad I tried these out...I cant wait to work MORE with them!

New Heart Designs

I have been DYING to put some of my sketches/designs onto paper!
I started designing on the cruise ship a month or so back, so here are a few.

This next example shows my process for my second design :)

Beginning of pencil sketch

Finished polka dots

Words added

Take out the outline & wording so background can be added
without the pencil lines showing through.

Trying out my Copic Markers in the background

Greenish background and adding a layer of blue

With the blue covering the green

Closeup of finished background...after MANY layers of marker

Adding red to the dots

Red dots completed & words added back in

Adding some shadows to the dots with markers and details
to the words

Closeup of finished polka dots

Finished piece...signed ;)

Skin tone & hair...

Jumping right back into the skin tone application.

The right side of the face shows the difference after adding a layer of
Clay Rose, which adds to the shadows.

Eighth layer...this was the moment that I realized that the right
side of her nose was WRONG :P

After fixing her right nostril ;)

The trick to taking off layers
of colored pencil is Sticky Tack...no eraser needed!
All you have to do is press the sticky tack into the paper.
The amt of pressure needed depends on how many layers you
need to remove. Start small & mistakes are easily fixed!

First layer on the hair

Second layer...adding shadows

Fourth layer

After approximately 10 layers on the hair!

Another finished product ;)

Catching up...

Okay, well this is one of my most recent portraits which has actually been done for a while now. I have nonexistent internet service, so uploading photos is not much of an option lately. I am making up for lost posts TODAY ;)
