Slowly, but surely...

Background & sharpie outlines are DONE! Now time to decide what colors to use for their skin tones & move right along. I'm thinking that just white t-shirts will look AWESOME & help to make it look like it is an actual pic that was taken & not something just placed together :)

Background in the WORKS...

3 layers added to the background
4 layers added to the background

Its crazy how much adding one extra color can change a piece so much :) I am going for a mossy, muddy looking green for the final product. My problem now is to find my awesome electric pencil sharpener...seems to have disappeared somewhere during the move :( Cant work on it anymore until I find a sharpener somewhere....all my pencils are too dull...lol!

Portrait Prices....

I have been doing the pricing for the portraits with each customer that is interested. I have others that are just curious about prices & sizes, so I am posting sizes with APPROXIMATE prices. Please keep in mind that these are approximate due to some people wanting more than one person in a portrait or even the amount of work that I put into the piece.  The prices are subject to change, so please be aware of this ahead of time. All photos that are provided must be good quality photos that are clear, so that I can use them as reference photos throughout the drawing process. I also do pet portraits and family portraits :D Please feel free to ask questions, if needed :)

8x10 ~ $100.....one person ONLY
9x12 ~ $125.....one person ONLY
10x13~$140.....up to 3 ppl
11x14~$150
16x20~$200
18x24~$250

Ready for COLOR...

10x13

May be a little hard to see, but all the lil faces are together now & ready to be colored...

Let the COMMISSIONS BEGIN...

I was very lucky to have gotten some commissions from the Classroom to Canvas Exhibit, as well as my posting of my progress on Facebook....now to start the actual work.

Here is the portrait that I am starting for Mary & Marcus....my Ex-Inlaws...lol! They asked if I could add lil Roli to a portrait of Marcus' two kiddos Will & Leah. Next Step is opaquing the all three little faces together.

Can't wait to start it :D

Classroom to Canvas: An Art Teacher Exhibition

Tuesday I go with my girlfriends to take down my very first Art Gallery Exhibition. We had some tough times overall with the set-up & actual production of work, but we definitely pulled it off WELL :D We had a GREAT crowd to show up and on August 20th during the 3rd Friday Argenta ArtWalk! Congrats to my Art Girls for pulling this off during a seriously STRESSFUL time for all of us! We did it :D I can hear Dora singing for us now...lol! Here are some pics from the exhibit of my most recent works...
SO PROUD :)

"Cierra"
18x24 Colored Pencil & Sharpie
This piece is from a photo that I took of one lil friend that I had in my class @ Headstart when I was a infant/toddler teacher in 2003. Been saving this one for a while & finally got to do a big piece of work from it.

"The Only Exception"
Colored Pencil & Sharpie
This is a triptych of my lil Roli @ about 6 mths old or so. I am really getting into the whole idea of age progression portraits in triptych form :D
"MY Picasso Face"
10x13 Mixed Media

All four of us did our own rendition of a Picasso Face. This is a lesson that I taught in my art class & the kids hated it @ first but by the end they LOVED it! The photo doesnt really do it justice...the colors are SO BOLD in the original.
"Lindsey"
Approx. 8x10 Colored Pencil & Sharpie

This is a portrait that I started WAY before the show began & hadn't really planned on adding it into the exhibit, but it just turned out so GORGEOUS! How could I not add it :)

Thanks to EVERYONE that helped & those of you who were able to come out & show support to your local artists/teachers :D
