Heart Design

Another lyric from "The Killers" that I am always singing :) These are a new route for me but I am really enjoying the process that goes with them!

Fun stuff :)

Some new designs that I worked on last weekend :) Thought the process might be interesting to see...

This is the first stage...i picked out a favorite lyric from "The Killers" and ran with it. I put the words on the paper first, then added some designs surrounding them. I added the arrow to draw your eye from one area to the next :)

I added to the designs to make them flow a little better and added the paisey-esque features :)

Added the stripes to add some more flow to the design:)

Close up of the designs that I added

Added designs to the upper area

Now for the COLOR! I am loving the colors yellow and lavender together. Not colors that I would usually choose so I just went with it. This entire design is marker-based...sharpie marker and copic markers which blend like colored pencils....AMAZING!

The inner portion needed MORE...added my favorite flower design to the right side :)

Now for the left side...polka dots gradually getting smaller should work! I LOVE polka dots ;)

I dont think that this one is truly finished, because the more I look @ it them more I want to add more colors :)) With a little finesse it will be finished, though!

Newest reference photo...

This is going to be too fun!

This is my next project, which i am starting IMMEDIATELY :) Such a gorgeous lil lady and am so excited to get this one done! I have lots of ideas for background colors already that I think will just work amazingly with this picture. I'm thinking of a light peachy pink which will make it even sweeter, if thats even possible...LOL! Wish me LUCK!!

Paint with your kids!

This is lil roli my favorite lil 3 year old ;) I mentioned painting after his nap and he was ALL about it! He told me that he wanted to use Black, Yellow, and White so that is what we did. This was his process for making an AMAZINGLY Gorgeous painting :))

Painting with black....FIRST ;)

Some awesome circles to begin with

He always amazes me with how careful he is and how well he uses a paintbrush

His brush strokes were beautiful :)

Needed one circle to be "ALL black"

Adding some white to the mix

As he worked we discussed how the white paint mixed with the black paint made gray :) He found that to be pretty darn amazing!

Now for some yellow

Finished piece.
